Our Location

Our Playa del Carmen hotel is ideally placed in the downtown area on Calle 10 Norte Bis, just a few streets back from the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. From here you’re just four blocks to the famous 5th Avenue (Avenida 5), Playa’s most stylish and eclectic spot for shopping, dining and nightlife. Shop for authentic Mexican arts and crafts, taste the traditional local cuisine, or enjoy a night on the town at a high end international restaurant, followed by a relaxed drink at a trendy bar or all-night dancing in the clubs – downtown Playa has it all. You’re also just a few minutes’ walk from Playa del Carmen’s lively main beach – a stretch of powder-soft tropical white sand facing the calm turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean.

Beaches

Most visitors come to Playa simply to relax, enjoy the world class beaches and soak up the bohemian atmosphere and the warm tropical weather year-round. Walking distance from Hotel 770, Central Playa’s main beach is lively, perfect for swimming all year round and popular with families. Nearby are the stunning beaches north of the ferry wharf at Avenida Constituyentes. The northern beaches attract a young, trendy crowd and it’s here that you’ll find the famous Mamitas Beach Club and Canibal Royal, two hip and vibrant beachfront clubs with DJs, dancing, cocktail and beach beds.

Watersports

The calm Caribbean waters of Playa make it a haven for water sports. It’s one of southern Mexico’s premier snorkel and dive destinations, with easy, shallow snorkelling right off the sand at Coco Beach. A trip to the nearby nature parks Xel-Ha and Xcaret offer the chance to explore tropical lagoons and swim, snorkel and SCUBA dive in the famous cenotes – breathtakingly beautiful fresh springwater caves with crystal clear blue water, hidden away in the tropical jungle.

Playa del Carmen is home to several dive operators offering SCUBA diving lessons, local dives catering to all levels of experience, and trips to the world renowned destinations of Akumal and Cozumel, where you can dive amid colourful coral reefs, sea turtles, stingrays and an endless variety of fish.

Kayaking is one of the most popular activities in Playa. Hire a kayak on the beach and enjoy a calm paddle along the coast, or take a tour of the mangroves in the area, and wildlife-rich ecological parks such as Tres Rios, a short drive north of Playa del Carmen.

Day Trips to Cancun and Tulum

Hire a car, join a tour or hop on a bus and spend a day checking out the hectic atmosphere of Cancun – Mexico’s famously hedonistic beach playground, or take a more relaxed trip to Tulum, one of the most spectacular historical sites on the Riviera Maya.

The Mayan ruins of Tulum, only an hour from Playa del Carmen, showcase one of the most soul-stirringly beautiful settings of any city, past or present, perched on the cliffs overlooking expanses of pure white sand and the mesmerising blue waters of Caribbean Sea. Explore the ghostly ruins of about 60 well preserved 13th buildings. Don’t miss the magnificent Castle, El Castillo, a temple-topped pyramid built on Tulum’s highest cliff.

Our friendly staff are happy to share their wealth of knowledge on what to see in and around Playa del Carmen, and how to arrange trips to any of the region’s stunning natural, cultural and historic attractions.
